WE SAW THE Relient K CAR!!!

Welcome to Mike's blog/site

Mike Dietz

Time where I am

This really deserves its own entry.....

So, we are huge fans of Relient K.

Relient K is one of the best Christian bands

ever. The band is just amazing, incredible

song-writing, power-pop style. If you don't

know the band (and you likely don't because

of the monopoly on the airwaves) listen to

some clips below.

So, we're about an hour out of Canton and

Kyle knows the band is from Canton. I'm not

going to put online how he found where the

band lives, but let's just say he is a pretty

good detective!

We met the two of the band member's dad

who was nice enough to invite us into his

house, show us the first Gold record AND....

told us where we could find the ACTUAL

Plymouth Relient K that was the motivation for

the band's name. From what we understand,

the car would never quit. Thousands of miles

as it was used for carrying mail in the back

roads of Ohio. Very cool adventure!

Kyle's recent episode of True Jackson VP on Nickelodeon

Here is one of Kyle's recent episodes on True Jackson VP on Nickelodeon. Youtube won't allow this content, so it is up on Vimeo. He will probably be filming again in February 2011.

More Teens becoming "Fake" Christians....

This article is damning to those in leadership working with students. I've seen this a lot, students who are exposed JUST enough to the gospel to "innoculate" them. I firmly believe one of the answers to this issue is getting students to SERVE. Taking them out of their comfort zone, away from the toys and gadgets and safety of "home" and helping them experience life as a servant.   See full article here.

Your own website?  Seems pretty pompous.  It started as contact info. I have a couple of companies, been on staff at churches & done consulting.  My contact info kept changing. Now, I'll always be able to be reached at mikedietz.net.

Then, with family all over the country, it was nice to let people know what has been going on with the DIETZ clan.

United One - DECISIONS!

Our most recent United One at Discovery Church was AMAZING!  Almost 400 students (and leaders) and some 70 decisions! We had a special celebrity guest - Brittney Spears! (OK, it was really Brian Berman in a wig!) I love our Student Ministries Leaders, we have amazing coaches, youth sponsors - and STUDENTS!

Goin' back to Ohio!

So, everyone was back at

school 3 weeks before Kyle

had to "report" to UCLA.

Perfect time to go visit

grandpa in Ohio. It turned

out to be quite an adventure!

I was able to take Kyle to

Detroit to see where I grew

up, the first house I lived in,

MoTown, my uncle's

famous mural at the

Detroit Public Library;

"Man's Mobility," Cleveland's

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,

the house where they shot

The Christmas Story, AND

the car that inspired

the band Relient K!
